The intensive interaction seems similar to floor time, however I have not studied either in detail. I would have liked more instruction in the intensive interaction but the book is rather thin. The sensory integration perspective is nice but not really "Ayers" SI as||The years of experience in sharing the world with people with autism that are communicated throughout this handbook are what make it powerful - this is a genuine sharing of insights and expertise... People with severe autism experience the sensory information they receive from the world completely differently to those not on the spectrum.
